Abstract

Confirmation of Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. palmarum on Ă— Butyagrus nabonnandii (mule palm) in Florida.

Abstract

Mule palm (Butyagrus nabonnandii) leaves exhibiting chlorotic or necrotic leaflets on one side of the leaf blade and a reddish-brown stripe along the petiole and rachis were observed in Florida, USA, in 2007. The casual pathogen was identified as Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. palmarum based on morphological, molecular and pathogenicity analyses. This report confirms the occurrence of F. oxysporum f.sp. palmarum on B. nabonnandii in Florida, USA.
