Invasive Species Compendium

Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Aggression of Solenopsis invicta towards other ants is not affected by colony rafting.

Abstract

Solenopsis invicta is an invasive ant species originally inhabiting flood plains in South America and therefore well adapted to flooding events. During floodings, there ants frequently perform rafting behaviour. This works studies the impact of rafting behaviour on interspecific aggression behaviour.
