New records of alien vascular plant species in mainland Portugal.
This paper reports on the discovery of invasive alien species in mainland Portugal that are believed to be in the process of naturalization or in the early stages of invasion, i.e. Cirsium scabrum, Jacobaea erucifolia subsp. praealta, Cestrum parqui, Elaeagnus angustifolia, Eragrostis curvula, Lagarosiphon major and Lilium candidum. Information on the morphological characteristics and habitats of these alien plants are also presented.
