Abstract

A contribution to the flora of plant parasitic microfungi from Rügen and Vilm Island (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern).

Abstract

In August 2014, a mycofloristic survey on plant parasitic microfungi on the islands of Rügen (southeastern part) and Vilm (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany) yielded 232 species on 233 host species, and 351 parasite-host-combinations were detected. Most collections were deposited in public or private herbaria. There are numerous noteworthy and rare records such as Coleosporium pulsatillae on Pulsatilla pratensis subsp. nigricans, Cronartium flaccidum on Euphrasia stricta, Melampyrum arvense/Odontites vulgaris, Milesina dieteliana and M. kriegeriana on Polypodium vulgare/Dryopteris spp. (rust fungi), Entyloma magnusii on Helichrysum arenarium (smut fungi), Leveillula helichrysi on Helichrysum arenarium and Podosphaera phtheirospermi on Euphrasia stricta/Melampyrum arvense (powdery mildews), Venturia potentillae on Potentilla anserina, Passalora dubia on Atriplex littoralis and Tretovularia villiana on Vicia cassubica (Ascomycota other than powdery mildews) and finally Albugo lepigoni on Spergularia salina and Peronospora violacea on Scabiosa columbaria (downy mildews).
