First report of zucchini tigre mosaic virus infecting several cucurbit plants in China.
In July 2014, foliage shrinking, blistering, mosaic, mottling, chlorosis and dark-green vein banding in pumpkin were observed in fields of Yuxi City, Yunnan, China. Disease incidences ranged from 80 to 90% in 2 fields. The causal pathogen was identified as Zucchini tigre mosaic virus (ZTMV) based on various molecular analyses and was tested on cucumber. This is thought to be the first report of ZTMV infecting cucurbits in China and cucumber as a new host of the virus.
