Condition of green plantations in Naugardiškiai park (Kaunas city) and in Rudamina Manon park (Lazdijai district).

Abstract

Between the years 2010-2014 green plantations in the parks of Rudamina Manor in Lazdijai district and Naugardiškiai in Kaunas were examined. In the green plantations of Rudamina park, the state of 12 species of local flora and 8 species of introduced plants was assessed. Whereas in the green plantations of Naugardiškiai park, phytosanitary state of 8 species of local flora and 7 species of introduced plants was evaluated. In both parks the state of woody plants was assessed, mainly 20 species of local flora and 15 species of introduced plants. During the whole period of examination, the following plants of local flora were in the best state: Fraxinus excelsior, Carpinus betulus, Salix caprea, Sambucus nigra and Ulmus laevis. Among introduced plants the best state was observed in these species: Larix decidua and Populus canadensis. There were no great differences noticed in the state of plants in both parks. Between the years 2010-2014 pathogens and pests were not common in the parks of Rudamina and Naugardiškiai. In the period of examination, Cameraria ohridella was found in both parks; its damage was given 4 points. In the green plantations of Rudamina park the damage caused by Rhytisma acerinum was given 3 points.
