First report of Cladosporium cladosporioides causing scab disease on papaya in Iran.
Abstract
In March 2012, a survey was conducted to determine the cause of pawpaw scab disease in Hamedan, Iran. Symptoms consisted of pale green and water-soaked lesions on leaves. The causal pathogen was identified as Cladosporium cladosporioides based on cultural, morphological, genetic (BLAST) and pathogenicity analyses. This is thought to be the first report of C. cladosporioides causing pawpaw scab in Iran.
