Study on ecological adaptability of introduced ornamental bamboo.

Abstract

In order to enrich the species of ornamental bamboo in the southern Henan, 22 species of ornamental bamboo were introduced from Anji county of Zhejiang province, and their ecological adaptability was studied by quadrat method. The results showed that 14 introduced species of ornamental bamboo could survive in southern Henan, among them Phyllostachys vivax f. aureocaulis, Phyllostachys vivax f. huanwen, Phyllostachys aureosulcata f. spectabilis, Bambusa multiplex, Phyllostachys nigra, Pseudosasa amabilis, Pleioblastus maculatus had good performance in high growth, diameter growth and resistance etc, which were the most suitable species in southern Henan.
