Identification of the pathogen of Amomum tsao-ko leaf blast.
Abstract
In 2013, the disease causing leaf blast on Amomum tsao-ko has been observed in Luchun county of Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province. The symptoms and morphological characteristics of the pathogen were identified by inspecting in the field, examining under microscope, and by culturing pathogen tests. The results revealed that this disease was caused by Pyricularia variabilis. It is the first reported leaf blast on Amomum tsao-ko and the pathogen, Pyricularia variabilis Bussaban is a new records in China.
