Survey on the kinds of fungal diseases on tobacco leaves in Chongqing.

Abstract

216 Tobacco samples were collected in 11 major producing areas in Chongqing from May to August 2012 to investigate the diseases and the species of pathogenic bacteria and fungal diseases on tobacco leaves. Five kinds of fungal diseases on tobacco leaves were found. They included tobacco grey mould, tobacco anthracnose, tobacco tatter leaf disease, tobacco leaf spot disease and tobacco broken leaf spot which was caused by Botrytis cinerea, Colletotrichum nicotianae, Mycosphaerella nicotianae, Phyllosticta tabaci, and Ascochyta nicotianae respectively. Tobacco tatter leaf disease caused by Mycosphaerella nicotianae was recorded for the first time.
