Abstract

Objective: To establish the Geographic Information System for exotic medical vectors surveillance with computer program based on Statistical Analysis System. Methods: The feasibility of developing Geographic Information System for exotic medical vectors surveillance (GEMV_GIS) by SAS was analyzed by means of applicability assessment, analysis of procedures and software. And parts of the program codes and GUI operations were taken for example. Results: The GEMV_GIS included parallel spiral data and attribute data management layers, and multiple functions for the administration, analysis and display of the main eight exotic vectors were realized. Conclusion: The GEMV_GIS based on SAS may enhance the administration and real-time analysis for huge data of exotic medical vectors captured in points of entry, and provide supports of intellectual decision for prevention and control of exotic vectors.
