Abstract

This paper mentions some plants that are regarded as native (such as Fritillaria meleagris), many of which are garden flavourites. These plants might have escaped into the wild in the UK, most of them originally introduced by gardeners, and barely a handful cause any trouble at all. In is emphasized that, for most people, a more important distinction than between natives and aliens is between plants we like and plants we do not.
