Abstract

First report of Fusarium sambucinum on rosemary plant in Iran.

Abstract

In November 2012, crown and root rot, with associated wilting of plants, was observed in rosemary fields in Kerman, Iran. Out of approximately 140 rosemary plants examined, more than 50% showed symptoms of crown rot, root rot and wilt and more than 35% had died. The causal pathogen was identified as Gibberella pulicaris based on cultural, morphological and pathogenicity analyses. This is thought to be the first report of G. pulicaris on rosemary in Iran and the world.
