Composition and growth adaptability of introduce landscape tree species in Guiyang.

Abstract

The freeze tolerance grade, growth vigor and planting quantity of introduced landscape tree species in part streets and public green space were analyzed and investigated from April, 2008 to April, 2012 by means of related literature to study their composition and adaptability in Guiyang. The results showed that there were 116 species, 72 genera, 41 families in introduced landscape tree species and the species number of forest tree, flowering tree, leaf tree, hedge tree, shadow tree and vine tree was 17, 35, 46, 5, 8 and 5 respectively. 65, 46, 2 and 3 species were of freeze tolerance grade I, II-IV, III-IV and IV-V separately. 68, 46 and 2 species were of good growth vigor, common growth vigor and bad growth vigor respectively. 61 species including Cedrus deodara, Cryptomeria fortunei, Cryptomeria fortunei, Sabina chinensis, Podocarpus macrophyllus and Vinca major, etc. are suitably planted in Guiyang.
