First records of Ficus whitefly, Singhiella simplex (Singh, 1931) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), for Tamaulipas and Nayarit, México.

Abstract

During surveys conducted in Tamaulipas and Nayarit, México, in September 2013, leaves of Ficus benjamina and F. microcarpa infested by whiteflies were collected. Samples were brought to the laboratory and identified as Singhiella simplex based on morphological analyses. This is thought to be the first record of S. simplex in the areas of Tamaulipas and Nayarit, México.
