Abstract

Survey was conducted on insects in seedlings and trees for afforestation during 2011 to 2013 in Xiaoshan, Zhejiang province. Results showed that there are 126 species of insect, belonging to 6 orders and 41 families. Five species were discovered more than that survey in 2003, such as Ricania speculum, R. shantungensis, Phenacoccus solenopsis, Ceroplastes ceriferus and Clostera anastomsis, among them, P. solenopsis is a forestry quarantine pest. Analysis indicated that the main causes of occurrence were host diversities, few tree species, invasion of alien pests and climate changes. Countermeasures were put forwarded.
