First record of Mediterranean hackberry gall mite (Reckella celtis Bagdasarian) in Hungary.

Abstract

First occurrence of Reckella celtis Bagdasarian (Acari: Prostigmata: Eriophyoidea) in Hungary is reported. It was found on the leaves of Mediterranean hackberry (Celtis australis L.). The species caused bead galls and leaf rolling. Therefore it is not a vagrant but a gall former mite.
