Abstract

Damage of bow-legged fir aphid (Cinara curvipes Patch, 1912) in Hungary.

Abstract

The bow-legged fir aphid, Cinara curvipes, was detected in the spring of 2012-13 on a single noble fir tree (Abies procera Glauca) and on a blue atlas cedar (Cedrus libani Atlantica Glauca) in private garden in Budapest, Hungary. The North American species C. curvipes has been introduced to some European countries (UK, Germany, Serbia, Switzerland, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Slovakia), where it established itself and already causes some damage.
