An overwintering spring cabbage cultivar 'Wangan 8'.

Abstract

'Wangan 8' is an overwintering spring cabbage hybrid which is developed by crossing two self-incompatible lines of '9802-6' and '9701-3'. It has strong cold-resistance, late bolting and resistances to black rot. The round head is bull-heart shaped with compact and tough structure, and the single head weight is about 1.2 kg. It takes about 145 days from planting to harvest for overwintering in open field. It is suitable to be cultivated in South area of the Yellow River, especially the Yangtze River.
