Abstract

Information is given about bacterial wilt (also known as brown rot, moko disease, slime disease, southern bacterial blight or seedling rot), a disease of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum [Solanum lycopersicum]), tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum), aubergine (Solanum melongena), potato (Solanum tuberosum), banana (Musa), plantain (Musa paradisiaca), Heliconia and many other species, caused by the bacterium Ralstonia solanacearum (Pseudomonas solanacearum[Ralstonia solanacearum]).
