First records of Ceroplastes floridensis Comstock (Hemiptera: Coccidae) and Chrysomphalus pinnulifer (Maskell) (Hemiptera: Diaspididae) in Tunisia.

Abstract

Ceroplastes floridensis is reported from Cap Bon, Tunisia, on citrus trees (Citrus spp.), laurel (Laurus nobilis) and common medlar (Eriobotrya japonica). This is thought to be the first record of Ceroplastes floridensis for Tunisia and the third for North Africa. Chrysomphalus pinnulifer is reported from citrus orchards in the northeast part of Tunisia (Menzal Bou Zalfa and Nabeul). This is thought to be the first record of Ceroplastes floridensis for Tunisia and the second for North Africa.
