Abstract

First record of Amblydromalus limonicus (Acari: Phytoseiidae) from Spain.

Abstract

High populations of Amblydromalus limonicus (Garman & McGregor, 1956) were recorded for the first time in northeast Spain on cultivated plants belonging to two species, tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) and apple tree (Malus × domestica Borkh.), and on the weeds Amaranthus retroflexus L. and Parietaria officinalis L. It is not known how this species was introduced onto these plants. The species has been reported as spontaneously occurring in South, Central and North America, New Zealand, Australia and Africa, but never until now in Europe.
