Association of fungi with symptomatic plant parts of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) from Bangladesh.

Abstract

During 2006 to 2009 about 24 species of fungi was found to be associated with chickpea. Among the isolated fungi 18 different fungal species were recorded as new with chickpea plant from Bangladesh, these were Alternaria raphani Groves & Skolko., Trichoderma viride Pers., Trichothecium roseum Link., Rhizopus stolonifer Bull., one species under each of the genus Cephalosporium Corda., Chaetomium Kunze., Cladosporium Link ex Fries, Curvularia Boedijn, Nigrospora Zimm., and Penicillium Link, and two species under each of Arthrinium Kunze ex Fr., Aspergillus Link, Colletotrichum Corda., and Pestalotiopsis Stey.
