Abstract

Wild and exotic animals: surgical removal of a lipoma in a budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus) - case report.

Abstract

Lipomas are benign neoplasms common in birds, especially budgerigars (Melopsittacus undulatus). Tumor development often affects normal movements and the bird's ability to live normally, requiring surgical removal. This article reports a clinical case and presents anesthetic and surgical procedures that can be routinely used in veterinary practice, solving the problem and promoting the patient's return to normal life.
