Analysis of rodent changes from 2002 to 2009 in open port of Zhenjiang.
Objective: To understand and master the conditions of mice types and density to help controlling the types and preventing the outgoing and incoming of infectious diseases caused by mice. Methods: There were four open ports in Zhenjiang. They were Dagang, Jianbi, Gaozi and Yangzhong. Four places as docks, odd grass, stores and living quarters in such regions had been investigated. The method was using the plywood for catching rodent. Results: About 25 466 plywoods had been returned within 8 years. 197 different types of rodent were caught. The density of them was 0.77%. After identifying, there were 3 catalogue, 3 family, 5 genus. The highest density of rodent was in 2002 within 8 years, it was 1.47%. The lowest was 0.32% in 2009. The difference of rodent density was remarkable (χ2=58.36, P<0.01). The structure of rodent types in different environments was remarkable (χ2=51.52, P<0.01), rodent density and years for monitor showed negative correlation (r=-0.957, P<0.01) and decreased with years going on. Conclusion: By rat density survey, the different environments and density of rodent population situation have been mastered in Zhenjiang. External mouse species invasion exists in Zhenjiang. What has been done in the research would help the work for killing rodent.
