Abstract

This review focuses on the taxonomy, description, history, geographical distribution, habitats, morphology and physiology and flowering and seed production of the Australian weed Hymenachne amplexicaulis. The seed germination, dormancy, seed bank longevity and dispersal of this weed are discussed and the economic importance, legislation for weed management and different management techniques of this invasive weed are also highlighted.
