Abstract

Bean common mosaic virus from French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Abstract

A sap and aphid (Myzus persicae, Aphis craccivora and Aphis fabae) transmissible virus prevalent of French bean in Uttar Pradesh has been identified as a possible member of the Potyvirus group on the basis of host range, particle morphology and size, aphid transmission characteristics and cytopathic changes induced in the host. The electron micrographs showed filamentous virus particles of 790×15 nm dimension.
