Abstract

Identification of Prunus necrotic ringspot virus from the rose samples in Haining, Zheijiang Province.

Abstract

A survey on Prunus necrotic ringspot virus disease of plants in Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Jiaxing areas was undertaken during 2007-2008. Total 102 samples of twelve fruit and ornamental host plants including cherry, peach, plum, almond, and rose were collected for detection. The results showed that 10 of 14 rose samples from Haining county were DAS-ELISA positive, which was then confirmed by RT-PCR and sequencing of the CP gene. It was concluded that these ten rose samples from Haining County, Zhejiang Province, were infected by Prunus necrotic ringspot virus.
