Abstract

Detection of southern bean mosaic virus and tobacco ringspot virus in soybean seed by GICA-RT-PCR.

Abstract

South bean mosaic virus (SBMV) and tobacco ring spot virus (TRSV) are quarantine pests in China. Both viruses can be transmitted through soyabean seeds. A gold immunochromatography assay (GI-CA) was conducted for both viruses. After the GICA detection of the viruses in seeds, the T and C lines of GICA were used in RT-PCR analysis. This GICA-RT-PCR method simplified the process of RT-PCR detection, and markedly increased the sensitivity of GICA.
