Abstract

Controlling effect of tobacco budworm on hot pepper and its field trials of insecticide.

Abstract

In an experiment conducted to determine the effect of commonly used insecticides on tobacco budworm (Heliothis assulta [Helicoverpa assulta]) infesting hot pepper, the most effective control was obtained with 2.5% lambda-cyhalothrin, 40% phoxim emulsifiable concentrate and Bt suspension, with an average controlling effect of 86.26, 84.92, and 75.09%, respectively. Alternate application of the 3 insecticides during hot pepper production is recommended.
