Environmental weeds of Australia: an interactive identification and information resource for over 1000 invasive plants.
This Environmental Weeds of Australia DVD aims to assist with the identification of weed species that invade natural habitats in Australia (i.e. environmental weeds). Both plain English and botanical terms (usually in brackets) are used throughout this product to make it applicable to as wide an audience as possible. The core feature of this DVD is an interactive Lucid identification key for approximately 1000 plant species that are either significant, emerging or potential environmental weeds in Australia. This DVD also provides photos and information (such as on origin, naturalized distribution, distinguishing morphological characteristics, and habitats) on these weed species. Links to websites that have relevant information about the control and/or management of these species are also included. Environmental Weeds of Australia will be an invaluable resource to all those involved with research, training and management of environmental weeds in Australia, especially State and local weed control officers, Bushcare and Landcare volunteers. This product also provides an extremely valuable teaching resource for students (universities, TAFE and secondary schools).
