Abstract

Studies on the ecological niche of Emposca vitis (Göthe) and spiders in tea gardens.

Abstract

The niche of E. vitis and spiders in different tea gardens in Yingde Guangdong, China, was investigated. Erigonidium graminicolum was the main predominance natural enemies, followed by Oxyopes sertatus, Jotus difficilis, J. munitus and Myrmarachne innermichelis. There was no difference in the niche width of E. vitis between the chemical control tea gardens and biological control tea gardens, but the kinds of spiders were less in the chemical control tea gardens than the biological control tea gardens. Also, the niche overlap of E. vitis and spiders was smaller. For this reason, the natural enemies cannot control E. vitis.
