Abstract

Oilseed rape pests.

Abstract

The main insect pests of rape crops in Croatia are described, with details of morphology, damage caused and life cycle. Details are not given of Meligethes aeneus, the most serious pest, as it is treated in more detail elsewhere in this issue of the journal (pp. 297-301). The pests covered in this paper are: Myzus persicae, Brevicoryne brassicae, Athalia colibri, Psylliodes chrysocephala, Phyllotreta spp., Ceutorhynchus picitarsis, C. napi, C. pallidactylus, C. assimilis and Dasyneura brassicae [Dasineura brassicae]. A table gives data on threshold levels of named pests for insecticidal interventions in Austria, France, Germany, Poland and the UK, and another table gives similar information for Croatia with the addition of the names of effective active substances.
