Primary study on the wood anatomical and physical-mechanical properties of introduced Dalbergia sissoo.
The wood anatomy and physical-mechanical properties of Dalbergia sissoo introduced from Nepal and planted in Yuan Jiang in Yunnan Province, China, were studied. Results indicated D. sissoo wood is a diffuse-porous wood, with even fibre having an average length of 1.43 mm. The microfibril angle was 12.24°. The respective air-dried and profile density were 0.746 g cm-3 and 0.634 g cm-3 in average. The air-dried and oven-dried variance shrinkage were 1.75 and 1.55, respectively. The comprehensive quality coefficient of D. sissoo was 2309×105 Pa, and a high quality wood for higher level material.
