Abstract

First report of bacterial soft rot on Vanda orchids caused by Dickeya chrysanthemi (Erwinia chrysanthemi) in the United States.

Abstract

In August 2007, 5 Vanda hybrids with leaves that were macerated, brown and watersoaked were found at a nursery in central Florida, USA. The causative agent was identified as E. chrysanthemi. This is thought to be the first report of E. chrysanthemi on Vanda hybrids.
