Mealybug (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) fauna associated to plants of interest: III. Coffee and cocoa.

Abstract

Different areas of the country were sampled to find out the mealybug fauna associated with coffee and cocoa trees. Thirteen species of mealybugs in coffee trees and six in cocoa trees were reported. They belonged to the genera Dysmicoccus, Ferrisia, Nipaecoccus, Paracoccus, Phenacoccus, Planococcus and Planococcoides. Of the species reported, Dysmicoccus bispinosus [Dysmicoccus texensis], Dysmicoccus brevipes, Paracoccus marginatus, Planococcus citri, Planococcus minor and Planococcus sp. were observed in both crops.
