Abstract

Vegetative regeneration of Fallopia japonica (Houtt.) Ronse Decraene (Japanese knotweed) at varying burial depths.

Abstract

This paper details a pilot experiment on the capacity of F. japonica in UK to withstand burial stress in relatively shallow sediment. It discusses regeneration only at shallow burial depths (5-25 cm) to determine if fine-scale variations in depth can gave a notable effect on the sprouting and growth of F. japonica rhizome and stem fragments.
