Abstract

New records of host plants and natural enemies of Aphis citricola van der Goot (Aphididae: Homoptera) from Orissa, India.

Abstract

A field survey conducted for host plants and natural enemies of A. citricola [A. spiraecola] (Aphididae: Homoptera) from the north eastern and mid central regions of Orissa (India) comprising six districts (Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Angul and Dhenkanal) revealed 37 species of host plants under 37 genera and 20 families as new records of A. citricola. Four species of coccinellids (Coccinella septempunctata, Menochilus sexmaculatus [Cheilomenes sexmaculata], Pseudaspidimerus circumflexus [P. trinotatus] and Pullus pyrocheilus [Scymnus pyrocheilus]), one species of chamaemyiid (Leucopis sp.), two species of syrphids (Metasyrphus confrator [Eupeodes confrater] and Paragus serratus) and one species of hemerobiid (Micromus timidus) were new records from the colonies of the aphid species.
