Abstract

This chapter summarizes and updates the available knowledge on animal grazing of Heracleum mantegazzianum as a way to manage the weed. Biomass production and nutritional value of Heracleum mantegazzianum, the principles and procedure in choosing livestock for the control of H. mantegazzianum by grazing, the effects of grazing on H. mantegazzianum and grazing management, the requirements for grazing management and management strategies for grazing control, the seed translocation by animals, the livestock poisoning, and the economic aspects of control by grazing, based mostly on the results of Danish studies, are discussed.
