Observations on biological habits of Ceroplastes rubens Maskell in Shanghai.

Abstract

Ceroplastes rubens annually produces one generation in Shanghai, China. It overwinters as a fertilized female. The peak of hatched eggs is from late-May to early-June while the peak of egg hatching is mid-June. The results are presented of a related experiment conducted to determine the efficacy of insecticides against C. rubens under field conditions.
