Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Wildland shrubs of the United States and its Territories: thamnic descriptions: volume 1.

Abstract

A discussion of the general characteristics of shrubs as a life form and their distribution within the USA is followed by short monographs containing general descriptions, geographical ranges, ecology, reproductive habits, growth and management, and benefits to humans, animals and the environment of 311 shrub species. The volume is a joint publication between the International Institute of Tropical Forestry and the Rocky Mountain Station; the descriptions have been published previously on the internet. The term 'thamnic' is derived from the Greek 'thamnos' which means shrub.
