Abstract

The incidences of ratoon stunting disease [Clavibacter xyli subsp. xyli], leaf scald [Xanthomonas albilineans] and yellow leaf virus on different sugarcane varieties are given for Colombia during 2003. An increase in the incidence of leaf scald was observed for CC 85-92, from 2.4% in 2002 to 3.7% during 2003. The incidence of yellow leaf virus increased mainly on the variety CC 84-75, being 18.6% on commercial plots and 16.9% in nurseries. The variety CC 85-92 had the greatest resistance and the lowest incidence of this disease (0.2%). Ratoon stunting disease was not detected in the samples analysed.
