Abstract

An experiment was conducted during December 1999-February 2000 in Mandya, Karnataka, India, to determine the occurrence and distribution of plant parasitic nematodes in rice fields. The predominant parasitic nematodes were Hirschmanniella oryzae (78.8%), Meloidogyne graminicola (62.4%), Hoplolaimus indicus [Basirolaimus indicus] (47.6%) and Tylenchorhynchus vulgaris (36.6%).
