Abstract

First report of powdery mildew (Sawadaea bicornis) on Norway maple (Acer platanoides) in North America.

Abstract

Powdery mildew symptoms were observed on young Norway maple (A. platanoides) growing in the Idaho-Washington (USA) border in September 2002, but not on old trees. Morphological data identified the causal agent as S. bicornis. This is the first report of this pathogen on Norway maple in North America.
