Abstract

Attack of the pine forest in Thessaloniki by Blastophagus piniperda (L.) and its control.

Abstract

This paper presents the results of measurements of the primary and secondary attack of B. piniperda [Tomicus piniperda] in the pine forest of Thessaloniki, Greece during 1994-98. The measurements, in relation to the kind and degree of attacks, the changes that took place in the forest because of the emergency of events and the silvicultural measures, showed that B. piniperda persisted in the forest for which an increased sensitivity to the attack by the insect was certified.
