Abstract

Identification of white leaf disease of sugarcane in Sri Lanka.

Abstract

The presence of white leaf disease in sugarcane, caused by a phytoplasma, is confirmed for the first time in Sevanagala and Uda Walawe, Sri Lanka. Restriction fragment length polymorphism patterns of diseased plants using AluI and RsaI restriction enzymes were similar to those of the white leaf diseases.
