An investigation on mycoflora of sesame seeds in Iran.

Abstract

Thirty-four fungal species of 15 genera (Acremonium, Alternaria, Aspergillus, Chaetomium, Cladosporium, Fusarium, Paecilomyces, Penicillium, Rhizopus, Scopulariopsis, Stachybotrys, Stemphylium, Tiarosporella, Trichoderma, and Ulocladium) were identified from seeds of 17 sesame cultivars in an experiment conducted during 1997-99 in Iran. Seven species (Acremonium strictum, Alternaria raphani, Chaetomium olivaceum, Cladosporium macrocarpum, Cladosporium oxysporum, Scopulariopsis brevicaulis and U. lanuginosum) are new for Iran mycoflora.
