Abstract

Yellow nutsedge (Cyperus esculentus L.) as a host of Sclerotinia minor.

Abstract

In September 2000, yellow nutsedge (Cyperus esculentus) plants growing in groundnut fields in Bertie County, North Carolina, USA exhibited fluffy white mycelium, and water soaked and bleached areas of leaves on the basal portion of the plants. The causal agent was identified as Sclerotinia minor. This is the first report of yellow nutsedge infection by S. minor.
