Laboratory evaluation of the efficacy of neonicotinoids against rosy apple aphids.

Abstract

The efficacy of imidacloprid (Confidor 70%), acetamiprid (Gazelle 20%) and thiacloprid (Alanto 40%) was determined against Dysaphis plantaginea in the laboratory. The LC50s for imidacloprid during 1997, 1998 and 2000 were 0.80, 0.58 and 2.98 p.p.m., respectively, indicating development of resistance. The LC50s of acetamiprid and thiacloprid during 2000 were 4.24 and 2.79 p.p.m.
