Abstract

Requirements of nutrients and optimum energy-protein ratio in the diet for Monopterus albus.

Abstract

The L9(34) table of orthogonal design method was used to formulate nine diet combinations, which were employed to determine the requirements of protein, fat, mineral and general energy for the eel, M. albus. The results indicated that protein and energy were the major factors affecting the growth of M. albus. The optimum percentages of protein, fat, mineral and carbohydrate were 35.7%, 3-4%, 3% and 24-33%, respectively.
